Moscow, Russia (Sports Network) - Two-time Grand Slam finalist Vera Zvonareva
underwent right shoulder surgery this week and will be sidelined for several
months.
Zvonareva started out last year ranked seventh in the world, but she never
advanced beyond the quarterfinals in 10 tournaments. She's been sidelined
since losing to Serena Williams at last year's London Olympic Games.
The 28-year-old former world No. 2 was the 2010 Wimbledon and U.S. Open
runner-up and captured a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
