Imagine a world where Pharrell Williams didn't dance for 24 hours, get an Oscar nomination, or cry about his music video with Oprah.
That un-Happy world was almost a reality, Williams revealed in an interview with Howard Stern on Tuesday.
Cee Lo Green originally recorded the long-reigning No. 1 hit and "he sounded amazing on it," Williams says. "But ... how do I say this diplomatically? The powers that be, at the time, did not see it fit for him," instead electing that Green focus on his Cee Lo's Magic Moment album, the Forget You singer's 2012 Christmas release.
But not to worry — there's no hard feelings between the hit-maker and The Voice coach.
"It's not his fault, he was totally down with it," Williams says. "He was one of the most gracious people about it when (Happy) came out."
