Reading Harry Potter can improve your attitude and reduce prejudice, according to a new study.

Researchers in Italy described their project: "We conducted three studies to test whether extended contact through reading the popular best-selling books of Harry Potter improves attitudes toward stigmatized groups (immigrants, homosexuals, refugees)."

Subjects of the study included elementary school, high school and university students. The study cites identification with Harry Potter and disindentification to Voldemort as encouraging perspective and attitude improvement.
