According to Lt. Sean DeFoe, spokesman for the Bibb County Sheriff's Department, four people in a boat were rescued after getting caught on a sandbar in the Ocmulgee River. It happened in an area off Ocmulgee East Boulevard south of Macon. DeFoe says the Department of Natural Resources and the Macon-Bibb Fire Department led the rescue effort.
