A nine-year-old girl from Byron says she wants to give care packages to the military for her birthday.

Alyssa Skinner's mother shared her birthday wish on Facebook Friday afternoon. So far she say's the post has received over 1,000 shares.

She wants to collect travel sized toiletries, sunglasses, lip balm, and her favorite, sour gummy worms.

"Sour gummy worms. Because I can't share my birthday cake with them but I can share my favorite candy" said Alyssa.

Some businesses like Rigbys have already put out buckets for donations. You can bring your donations to Rigby's or the other locations around town like Exit Success Realty, The Costume Shop, BLD 222 for AFB, Dr. Spillers Orthodontics, Museum of Arts and Sciences, Byron Welcome Center.

"I'm happy that I'm doing this because like I said earlier, they risked their life for me and they don't even know me. And I just want to give what they give to me back to them" said Alyssa.

Alyssa's birthday party is August 23rd at Rigbys. After her party her mom says they will gather all the donations and pack them the next day
