Indianapolis (Sports Network) - Kentucky, Syracuse, North Carolina andMichigan State were given top seeds for the 2012 NCAA Tournament on Sunday.

Kentucky and Syracuse were No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in the AssociatedPress poll for the past six weeks, though both lost in their conferencetournaments.

The Wildcats, the No. 1 overall seed, are stationed in the South Region, whilethe Orange headline the East Region.

The Tar Heels, the top seed in the Midwest Region, also fell in the ACC titlegame, while Michigan State won the Big Ten Tournament crown just minutesbefore the selections were announced. The Spartans, who were not ranked in thepreseason top-25, loom large in the West Region.
