The day after federal agents seized boxes of documents from the Hancock County courthouse details remain fuzzy.

Multiple witnesses told 13WMAZ Wednesday that the FBI targeted the office of Probate Judge Marva Rice in their hours-long search, but attempts to reach her failed.

13WMAZ's Jennifer Moulliet went back out to Sparta and found that Rice had taken the day off.

We went to her house for a comment, but she refused to come to the door and called the sheriff who asked us to stay off of her property.

The FBI offered no updates. Several attempts were made to reach Sparta Mayor William Evans and Hancock County Commission Chairman Samuel Duggan, but neither were available for comment.
