Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Allen Crabbe scored a game-high 24 points, leading four starters in double figures, as the California Golden Bears posted a 78-58 win over the Pacific Tigers in the DirecTV Classic Championship at Anaheim Convention Center Arena.
Justin Cobbs accounted for 20 points, Richard Solomon 14 and Brandon Smith 11 points for the Golden Bears (6-0) as they remained unbeaten after six games. David Kravish finished with just five points, but was responsible for a game- high 10 rebounds in the decision.
The Tigers (3-3) were paced by Ross Rivera who scored 13 points, followed by Colin Beatty who scored 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor. Unfortunately, the other three starters combined to shoot just 3-of-20 from the field in the outing.
California opened the meeting on a 7-0 run and eventually led by a score of 27-10 midway through the first half before taking a 41-27 advantage at the break.
At the 6:51 mark of the second half, a jumper by Pacific's Khalil Kelley cut the deficit to just five points at 59-54, but Cal closed the contest on a 10-0 run to put the game away.
The Golden Bears, who are off to a 6-0 start for the first time since 2007, made good on all but three of their 25 free-throw attempts.
