For the first time in more than 12 years, Elton John is returning to Macon.

John and his band are scheduled to perform at the Macon Centreplex Wednesday March 20th at 8 p.m.

The concert will feature many number-one hits from throughout John's career, which spans five decades.

Macon Centreplex Arena Director Brenda Thompson says, "The city of Macon and the Centreplex are thrilled to have Elton John back. John's last show here in 2000 was absolutely one of the best concerts ever held in our building."

Elton John is one of the top-selling solo artists of all time, with 35 gold and 25 platinum albums, 29 consecutive Top 40 hits, and he has sold more than 250 million records worldwide. "Candle in the Wind '97" holds the record for the biggest selling single of all time.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, January 19th at 10a.m. on ticketmaster.com. They are $39, $79 and $139. There is an 8 ticket limit per customer.
