The 19-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 22-year-old woman attending GED classes at the Macon Rescue Mission has turned himself into police.
Earlier Thursday, police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet confirmed to 13WMAZ that the victim told investigators she was asked to perform a sexual act on the suspect, Javorian Quintarius Sims.
According to a news release, Sims is suspected of grabbing the victim as she attempted to go to the restroom after class.
Gaudet told 13WMAZ that the alleged assault happened around 6:30 Monday evening and there may be video evidence that corroborates the victim's claims.
Sims turned himself in around 2:30 p.m. He has been charged with sexual assault and simple battery.
