Niagara, NY (Sports Network) - Daniel Stewart recorded a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 14 rebounds as the Rider Broncs secured a 68-59 win over the Niagara Purple Eagles in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Gallagher Center.
Also scoring in double figures for the Broncs (17-13, 11-6 MAAC), as they won their fourth straight and completed the season sweep of the Purple Eagles (17-12, 12-5), was Jonathon Thompson with 25 points.
Niagara was paced by Juan'ya Green who tallied a game-high 27 points, shooting 9-of-19 from the floor, but still the program had a three-game win streak snapped.
The Purple Eagles led by as many as seven points in the first half, yet the team shot just 28.6 percent from the floor in the frame, including 3-of-15 beyond the arc, en route to a 28-26 deficit at the break.
In the second half Rider surged ahead by 12 points with just over eight minutes remaining, the visitors knocking down 5-of-9 on the perimeter in the period in order to claim the nine-point win.
In a game that featured six ties and nine lead changes, the hosts shot only 35.7 percent from the field and 13-of-24 at the free-throw line.
