Troy, AL (Sports Network) - Marcos Knight dropped in a game-high 20 points as the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders handed the Troy Trojans a 66-56 defeat in a Sun Belt Conference bout at Trojan Arena.
For the Blue Raiders (26-4, 18-1 Sun Belt), J.T. Sulton added 10 points and Bruce Massey dished out eight assists.
Ray Chambers led the Trojans (11-19, 6-13) with 17 points, while Tevin Calhoun finished with 11 points and Antoine Myers chipped in with 10 points.
Middle Tennessee took a 29-24 lead into halftime by shooting 48 percent from the field and holding Troy to just 37.5 percent. Neither club shot well from the perimeter, as the Blue Raiders made just 1-of-5 tries from 3-point range and the Trojans missed all but on of their nine shots from beyond the arc before intermission.
After the break, the Blue Raiders connected on 56 percent of their field goal attempts, including 2-of-5 from 3-point distance. The Trojans made just 36.7 percent, but did connect on 4-of-9 from 3-point range. Middle Tennessee pushed its lead to as many as 21 in the second half as it coasted to victory.
The Blue Raiders had a 32-28 edge on point in the paint to go along with a 36-33 rebounding advantage.
