AUBURN, Ga. (AP) - Authorities are searching for a missing baby water buffalo in northeast Georgia.
Farmer Charlotte Cates tell The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the 7-month-old has been on the run since Saturday, when she ran away from her new home in Barrow County. Cates said she was in a stall at the farm, and busted through the door.
The animal was spotted Saturday night, about a mile and a half from home after she had crossed Georgia Highway 316 in both directions.
However, thunderstorms rolled in, likely scaring the animal.
Cates said she worries the animal will be hit by a car if she's not found.
She said the baby water buffalo looks almost like a baby cow.
