Macon city council member Beverly Olson says she will run for the District 4 seat in the Macon-Bibb consolidated government.

She joined council in 2011, and says she can use the experiences with the city to help lead the beginning stages after the merger.

Olson says her top priority will be helping at-risk youth. She says she plans to donate her commission salary to organization who reach out tothose children.

District 4 starts at the Monroe County like to the north and extends south toward the Thomaston Road exit on Interstate 475.

Theron Ussery and Mallory Jones have also announced their candidacy for that seat.
