Bruce Hutchison is a self-employed contractor from Jones County, who prides himself on being a hard worker.

"Get up at 4 o'clock and be out the door by 5 and go to work."

But the day before Thanksgiving last year, his daily routine changed when he was working on an old roof and fell through it 20 feet.

Hutchison had to have rods put in and has had multiple operations since his accident.

But being out of work has taken its toll on Hutchison financially, and his friends are rallying to support him.

"When you can't work, you know your bills still come, your house payments still come," says friend Danny Outlaw. "I knew right then that we had to organize something to help them out."

Outlaw is organizing a benefit for Hutchison, which will include a Poker Run, and a Boston butt BBQ sale on Saturday, May 11 at AP's Hidden Hideaway at 4274 Broadway.

While Hutchison is grateful for the help, he's eager to get back on two feet and on the job.

"Lay in bed on your back for five months and tell me you don't want to go to work," he says.

The butts will be sold at $35 a piece. For more information, you can contact Danny Outlaw at (478) 719-0824
