Denver, CO (Sports Network) - The Colorado Rockies recalled pitcher Tyler Chatwood from Triple-A Colorado Springs and named him the starter for Wednesday's series finale against the Atlanta Braves.
Chatwood went 1-0 with a 1.84 earned run average over three starts at Colorado Springs, while striking out 17 over 14 2/3 innings.
The 23-year-old right-hander appeared in 19 games, including 12 starts, with the Rockies last season and went 5-6 with a 5.43 ERA.
Colorado optioned pitcher Rob Scahill to Colorado Springs to make room from Chatwood on the roster. Scahill made one appearance with the Rockies this season and allowed one hit with two strikeouts over three frames of relief work.
