The regular season for GHSA baseball is winding up and one Central Georgia team is racing to the finish with a 19 game winning streak and counting.

Tuesday nights 14-6 win over Howard improved Veterans record to 21-3 and helped claim their second region 2AAAA title in as many years. Led by 13 seniors, the Warhawks have not lost a game since March 7th to non region foe Northside.

Veterans' Head Coach David Coffey says in all his years of coaching and playing baseball, this is the first 19 game winning streak, he's encountered and he stresses props goes out to every name on the roster.

"Honestly, it's a team effort", says Coffey. "Because every night you never know who its gonna be. Someday its the pitcher, someday its the catcher, someday its the hitter or a baserunner so honestly it has been somebody new for us every game."

The Warhawks (22-3) won Wednesday night over Westside 11-1 and have one more regular season game before playoffs begin on May 3rd.
