Relay for Life raises money for cancer awareness and research, but it is also a time to remember those lost to cancer, those still fighting, andcelebrate those who have survived.

Hundreds of supporters turned out to the Al Sihah Shrine Park in Macon to walk in the fight to stop cancer, or to cheer from the sidelines.

The celebration in Bibb County is one of many held around the world.

This year's event featured 137 teams and raised more than $220,000.

The theme was "A Century of Hope: Relay through the Decades".
