MACON, GA--Coaches and players from college football programs in the state of Georgia gathered at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Tuesday to meet with the media.
Albany State, Clark Atlanta, Fort Valley State, Georgia Military College, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State, LaGrange College, Mercer, Morehouse, Reinhardt, Shorter College, Savannah State, UGA, West Georgia, and Valdosta State were all represented.
Many of the coaches were looking back at theirrecentspring practices.
"I felt like we had a good spring practice. It could have been the bowl in or not, but the attitude is good now," said Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson.
Others were excited about the progress of young players. Rising sophomore running backs Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall certainly have Georgia coach Mark Richt excited.
"They played so well and they were so productive as freshmen. You'd love to think they could get better every year," said Richt.
13WMAZ will be previewing eight programs from around the state over the course of the summer. You can check out a new team Tuesdays on Eyewitness News at 6.
