MILLEDGEVILLE, GA-- While the Georgia Military College coaching staff was working with 45 youth campers, the older Bulldogs were sprinting up and down a hill on Wednesday.

It's all part of the summer workout program to keep the team in shape. Among those powering up the muddy hill were tailback Akeem Judd and cornerback Quintavious Knight. Both are about to start their sophomore campaigns and have verbally committed to play for Ole Miss in 2014.

Judd is the top junior college running back in the nation. He committed a few weeks ago.

"Akeem really is a great combination of speed, power and receiving skills in a tailback," said head coach Bert Williams. "He's really in every down at tailback. To be that good in all those areas, that combination is not easy to find. He really did a nice job second half and had a break-out game against Lackawanna in our regular season finale."

Judd said the high-profile recruiting class Hugh Freeze assembled for this year helped him make his decision.

"When I first went there I was kind of wondering like, why did everyone come to this school? They haven't won a lot of games, but once you meet the coaching staff and the players, once you get around the players you don't wonder why. There's no question that's why they committed."

GMC opens the season on August 24.
