The Macon Police Officer arrested in Monroe County for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and reckless conduct for child endangerment says she "loves her job" and wants it back.
27-year-old Officer Kontrina Toomer was arrested Monday in Monroe County after drug raidfound packaged marijuana, some pills, a semi-automatic handgun, and around $4,000 in cash in her Frontage Road home in Forsyth.
Toomer told 13WMAZ the marijuana and money did not belong to her, but to 30-year-old Horace Wise who lived with her and is the father of her child.
She says she had no idea until the arrest that Wise had any drugs in her home. She knew Wise had a past history of legal trouble, but had been living in her home for a while without problems.
Toomer was released on her own recognizance, while Wise remains in jail.
13WMAZ obtained a copy of Toomer's discipline record, which shows she had no infractions since she was hired by Macon Police in October 2010.
She believes losing her gun and badge was unfair, and says given the opportunity, would like to return to the force.
Police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet says Toomer is on administrative leave until an internal investigation is complete.
