Next week, what is billed as the country's largest 10K will once against snake its way around Atlanta for the Peachtree Road Race.

Every yearabout 60,000 folks celebrate the Fourth of July with the vigorous morning workout.

The Macon Tracks Running Club always sends a contingency.

They put in a light workout Tuesday under the threat of heavy storms in the area.

F.M. Barron has competed in plenty of races, but never a Peachtree event.

He says he's looking forward to it and figures it will be a lot more festive than most races.

"Today I was looking at the list of speakers before and that looks very interesting," F.M. said. "I've never run a race with 60,000 people, so I hope it's going to be a 6.2 mile parade that you can run all the way and not just at the finish line."

F.M. plans to run a half-marathon in the fall. He will be announcing during the Macon Labor Day Road race this year.
