It's been two years since Georgia native Alana Thompson became the household name "Honey Boo Boo".

The 7-year-old reality television starvisited Maconto promotethe 2nd season of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo", and a new book called "How to Honey Boo Boo".

13WMAZ had a chance to catch up with Alana's mom, "Mama June" Shannon.

Shannon says the 2nd season of their show will bring more exposure to central Georgia.

Most of the scenes will take place in Macon, Warner Robins, and Perry.

Shannon says staying close to home is important to her family,and staying grounded isn't hard to do while handling fame.

"A lot of people do consider us as celebrities, but no, we're not," said Shannon.

"To me, I'm just June. (I'm) what I was two years ago, six months ago, even a month ago. That's what I want to be."

Season two of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" premieres July 17th on TLC at 9 p.m.
