MACON - The Westside Seminoles came up short in the playoffs after winning their third region title in the school's history. In the off season the Noles lost 18 starters but are busy preparing for opening night. Coach Shedrick Risper is looking to improve the play of his offensive and defensive linemen. He graduated all but one from a team 9-2 team that lost in the first round of the state playoffs to South Effingham. Risper does see hope and experience in the skill spots but realizes he has some challenges ahead of him.

Senior Jeremy King is confident that he and the rest of the lineman will show up come game time, "It's not going to be hard, they're ready. We're young and we know that. We just have to come out and prove it every day. Just make it happen."

Risper offers no excuses, "We're just going to have to throw the young guys into the fire. Nobody cares about who you have or who you line up on Friday nights. They just have to be ready to grow up in hurry in a tough region."

Westside and Northeast tango Friday night in a scrimmage. On August 30th, Central and the Seminoles collide at Henderson Stadium.
