Students attended an unusual funeral Monday

Weaver Middle School held a memorial service for the phrase, "I Can't".

In honor of the Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program, or GEAR UP, the funeral was to give students a way to put to rest the negative and continue with the positive.

Students were able to "view" I Can't, also called "Mr. I Can't," by walking around and placing their negative thoughts on a sheet of paper and placing them in the casket.

Keeping with the funeral theme, a group of students sang and another student gave a eulogy.

The funeral ended with a procession of students as they put the casket in the hearse.
