Macon, GA - In a back and forth 5-set thriller, the Wesleyan College volleyball team fell just short of extending their 3-match win streak, falling to Truett-McConnell 3-2 (25-22, 19-25, 25-19, 22-25, 13-15).

Wesleyan (3-8) had three players record double-digit kills in the match. Junior Chermaine Johnson put down a match-high 16 kills, while freshmen Malae Fiaseu and Jema Bravo both recorded double-doubles for Wesleyan. Fiaseu finished the night with 13 kills and 28 digs, while Bravo wrapped up the evening with 12 kills and a match-high31 digs. Sophomore setter Melissa Rodriguezjust missed out on a double-double of her own with 30 assists and 9 digs.

"Welost to a good team tonight in Truett-McConnell," remarked Wesleyan head coach Orlando Gonzalez. "They did a great job extending rallies throughtout the match and they served well. I thought we made too many mistakes at critical times. Although we are never going to play a perfectmatch,the timing of our errors did us in. Despite those errors, we did do some things well tonight. Our passing was great and I thought we did a good job in serve receive. Hopefully we can learn from this match and use it to help prepare us for our first conference match this weekend."

Wesleyan will travel to Winston-Salem, NC, to take on Great South Athletic Conference foe Salem College along with Allen University on Saturday afternoon.
