Macon police say a 17-year-old now faces a murder charge in a robbery that led to his brother's death.

Police made an arrest Thursday in the attempted robbery at Scottish Inn, 5022 Romeiser Drive, Macon, on Sept. 30 that resulted in the death of one of the would-be robbers.

Police saidbrothers Darius and Paul Washington tried to rob Douglas Jackson at gunpoint at about 4:35 a.m.

They say Jackson shot and killed Darius Washington. Police say Jackson was defending himself and will not be charged.

The Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 17-year-old PaulWashington on Thursday, according to a Macon police news release.

He is being held at the Bibb County jail, charged with murder and armed robbery. No bail has been set.
