It's been more than a year since Superior Court Judge Howard Simms was caught drinking and driving at a Bibb County roadblock.

During a multi-agency roadblock, an officer smelled alcohol on Simms' breath. The field sobriety test found Simms blew a .08, which is legally drunk.

But the officers allowed him to drive himself home.

Simms admitted he had a drinking problem, but did not resign his judgeship.

The officers involved were reprimanded, and Simms went to treatment for alcoholism.

Simms sat down with Kenny Burgamy to talk about what he experienced that night and what he has learned since then.
