ATLANTA (AP) - Emory University is hosting an exhibit on the life and legacy of boxing great Joe Louis.

The university says the traveling exhibit, called "Joe Louis Barrow: A Life and Career in Context," explores his childhood, his family's move to Detroit, his decision to go pro, his major fights and his service in the Army.

His son, Joe Louis Barrow Jr., is set to speak at an opening event on Nov. 13. The event is free and open to the public.

The exhibit is part of Emory's Race and Sports in American Culture Series.

The exhibit will travel in the spring to Louis' birthplace in Chambers County, Ala.; Detroit; and Chicago and New York, the cities that hosted his key bouts. Then it will return to Emory.
