Tuesday morning, residents in Bibb County got the chance to sign up for help in paying their heating bills this winter.
Each year, the Macon-Bibb EOC operates the heating-energy assistance.
This first round is for the elderly and disabled.
Signup continues Wednesday at 7 a.m. EOC will take the first 200 applicants at St. Paul's A-M-E Church on Shurling Drive.
There's a third day of signups Thursday: same time, same place.
People should bring their most recent energy bill, proof of income, a picture ID and their Social Security card. Applicants must meet income limits.
In December, the EOC wlll take applications from the general public.
For more information, you can call the EOC at (478) 750-8689.
