Former Warner Robins firefighter, Randy Toms will face Joe Musselwhite in a runoff on the first Tuesday of December.
13WMAZ's Jennifer Moulliet caught up with him on election night.
He hit the polling precincts all day gathering support.
"It was a crazy week and i'm excited about what's happened this week." says Toms.
He and his supporters stayed waving and holding up signs until the polls closed at seven.
"Today, it was just draining no doubt."
Close to 6500 people showed up at the polls to cast their vote.
The final results, a runoff between Joe Musselwhite and Randy Toms.
One hundred and fifteen votes separated Toms and Musselwhite. Toms says his next step is to regroup.
"Put our team together and see how many people we can get to join our team and just keep getting out and seeing the people."
Toms, retired city firefighter says his twenty seven years working for the city helped him learn how to pull people together for a common goal.
"I don't have a personal agenda and I just want to get things done for the city of Warner Robins."
He says he"just wants to be that force, that person that comes in and brings peace and unity back to city government."
He calls Tuesday's election a victory, but says there's still work to be done.
The runoff is scheduled for Tuesday, December 3rd.
