Portia Lake joined the 13WMAZ family in March 2014. Currently she anchors the 6 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts with Frank Malloy. Portia previously anchored and reported in Macon for 10 years before returning home to Central Georgia. Prior to arriving in Macon in 2003, she worked at television and radio stations in New Orleans, Memphis and Greenville, Mississippi.
Portia is a member of the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists and the National Association of Black Journalists. In her free time, she volunteers with charities and groups devoted to promoting literacy and inspiring teens to success.
Portia is a native New Orleanian who proudly calls Central Georgia home. She is a proud graduate of Louisiana State University. Portia lives in Bibb County with her husband and spoiled Schnauzer named Blakemore. During football season you will find Portia out cheering on LSU and the University of Georgia football teams.
In her spare time, she cherishes precious family time, travelling, live music and reading inspirational literature.
