Paula Rotondo joined 13WMAZ in June 2014 as a Multimedia Journalist.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from The University of Georgia, where she focused on Digital and Broadcast News. She minored in Sociology.
Long before she began her studies, Paula knew she had a knack for journalism. During high school she uncovered a novel being written about her late grandfather. And after her own investigation, she was able to correct some facts about him for the author. This led to the publishing of Command Influence, the story of her grandfather's journey as a Second Lieutenant during the Korean War.
That experience led Paula to pursue her passion for investigative reporting at the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism. While attending UGA she was an active contributor to the local student run news organization, Grady Newsource. During her time with Newsource, Paula not only reported but also produced, anchored, and was involved in the technical work it takes to create a full half hour episode.
The summer leading into her senior year at UGA, Paula was fortunate enough to earn an internship with Fox 5 News in Atlanta, GA. There she worked closely with the investigative team to help produce their stories. This glimpse into the inner workings of an experienced investigative reporting team only fueled Paula's interest.
After graduating in May 2014, Paula relocated from her native Marietta to Macon. Paula is ready to bring her news experience to 13WMAZ and the viewers of Central Georgia.
When Paula isn't bringing the news to Central Georgia, she enjoys kayaking, lake fishing, hanging out with her family, hiking mountains all throughout Georgia, and healthy cooking using organic ingredients.
