A tractor trailer caught on fire and backed up traffic on i 75 South Bound for 2 miles this morning.
The Bibb Sheriff's Office is investigating a traffic accident that occurred on I-75 South Bound, at its intersection with the Sardis Church Rd off-ramp.
Sunday morning, a black 2013 Toyota Camry, driven by 49-year-old Arthur Donnell Rolack of Warner Robins was driving north in the southbound lanes of I-75 at Sardis Church Road when he collided head on with a 2012 Volvo 730 tractor trailer driven by 40-year-old Quentin Thomas of Tennessee.
Bibb County Patrol Deputies determined that Rolack was under the influence of alcohol and that he did not have his headlights on at the time of the accident.
He was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving the wrong way on a roadway, driving without headlights at night, serious injury by motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
He was taken to the Bibb County Jail.
Thomas was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia for burns and other injuries that he received due to the accident.
He is listed in stable condition at this time. The tractor trailer he was driving caught on fire and the frozen food that he was hauling was damaged by the fire.
