It's been the general sentiment of the day.

"It's cold!" Lucian DeLapeta says.

Though we're not quite the Northeast where heavy snow is pounding states with up to18 inches of snow, and we're not quite North Georgia where bitter cold caused single-digit wind chills and light snow overnight, Central Georgians are feeling the temperature, too.

"I have on two shirts, two jackets, I have on some hoop shorts, a pair of pajama pants over that, with these pants," Alijohwa Gordon says.

20-year-old Gordon works at Speedwash Car Wash on Riverside Drive in Macon.

He says on a regular day, his daily uniform usually isn't so heavy.

"I'll just wear a jacket and some long pants and some long socks," Gordon says. "But today, I had to be prepared!"

After waking up to below-freezing temperatures, construction workers trying to build a new Hobby Lobby in north Macon braced themselves too.

"Working outside, it's not pleasant, especially in the cold," DeLapeta says.

Their only saving grace?

"The heat in my tractor," Jamie Jenkins says.

But they say working in the cold is part of the job description.

"You gotta work. Rain or shine, hot or cold, the job still goes on," Jenkins says.
