A Butts County man overnight became the area's first storm-related death.

That's according to Glen Goens, the county's EMA director.

He said the 50-year-old went walking to a neighbor's house around 9 Tuesday night and apparently slipped, fell and hurt himself.

The man dragged his way back to his porch.

But his family didn't notice he was missing until 5:30 Wednesday morning. Goens said.

Goens said the man apparently died of hypothermia. He said there's been no autopsy yet.
