Public Service Communications, based in Reynolds purchased the local cable and Internet system from the City of Forsyth.
Public Service Communications says the Forsyth company will continue to operate under the name Forsyth CableNet LLC.
Customers will continue to make payments at the Forsyth City Hall for the first three months and the new company plans to have a payment/office location in the downtown area opened by Nov. 3, according to a news release.
Public Service Communications says it will begin testing and upgrading the system immediately and has set a goal to have the system upgraded and offer broadband speeds in excess of 30 MB within the next 6 months, the news release states.
The cable lineup, broadband speeds and prices for cable packages will include digital and HD channels, movie packages, as well as local channels.
