SYLVESTER, Ga. -- The 2-year-old girl from Mississippi who was the subject of Amber Alert was found early Thursday in Sylvester, Ga., according to authorities. The girl's parents were reportedly taken into custody.

An Amber Alert had been issued on Wednesday after Maliah Harris was taken from a home by her parents, Donald Boyd Harris and Allison Studdard. Police believed Maliah Harris could be danger after her infant sister was found dead in their home.

Lowndes County Chief Deputy Marc Miley says drugs were discovered in the home of Harris and Studdard. Miley told NBC's Tupelo station WTVA that a search of the home uncovered meth and ice. Also according to Miley, surveillance video of Harris and released by authorities Wednesday evening, came from a convenience store in Alabama and was time-stamped sometime Wednesday morning. An exact location was not immediately known.

According to Sylvester, Ga. Police Sgt. Dean King, the couple's Pontiac Aztec was spotted by Sylvester police traveling eastbound on Highway 821 around midnight. The car was stopped and authorities said they found Maliah Harris and her father.

The 2-year-old, who was said to be in good health, will be taken into state custody until she can be turned over to the proper Mississippi authorities, according to Sgt. King.

Donald Boyd Harris will be turned over to the GBI or Mississippi authorities.

The young girl's mother, Allison Studdard, was not in the car and King did not where she was. WTVA reported that both parents had been taken into custody, according to Lowndes County Chief Deputy Marc Miley.

Investigator Eric Granderson with the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department said Maliah's 7-month-old sister was found dead in the family's home in Caledonia on Wednesday morning, Harris and Studdard are the children's parents.

The three left together this morning from the home they share in Caledonia with a grandfather.

Granderson said at this point the deceased child does not seem to show signs of violence.

"The autopsy is pending. It doesn't look like there are apparent injuries," Granderson said.
