(WXIA) -- Gov. Nathan Deal's office is preparing an announcement on changes to organizational structure at the Division of Family and Children Services, sources tell WXIA's Rebecca Lindstrom.
According to the sources, DFCS will be separate from DHS and the head of DFCS will report directly to the governor instead of the commissioner.
More information on the change will come following a task force meeting, which will take place at Emory Law School Thursday afternoon. The task force is set up to audit the DFCS system and suggest changes.
