An Eatonton funeral home is handling arrangements for Russell J. Dermond. Williams Funeral Home posted Dermond's obituary saying services will be private.
Cameron Williams with the funeral home told us by phone the times and dates for Mr. Dermond's visitation and funeral have not yet been set.
The obituary sheds some new light into the life of the 88-year-old Lake Oconee resident. He was a World War II veteran, who served in the Navy. His parents were the late Russell Charles Dermond and Margaret Tedesco Dermond.
Dermond was a native of Hackensack, New Jersey, but made his home in Atlanta before retiring at Lake Oconee. He enjoyed golf, reading, walking, and spending time with his family and friends.
He and his wife Shirley, who's still missing, were married 68 years and had three children, and nine grandchildren.

Russell Dermond was found dead in his home in the Great Waters community at Lake Oconee on May 7th. His wife is believed to have been abducted, and the FBI is assisting in the Putnam County Sheriff's office's investigation.
