People in Macon's Pleasant Hill neighborhood who are looking for work now have more help finding it.

Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia cut the ribbon Wednesday to open its new Job Connection resource center on Vineville Avenue.

The center provides resources to job seekers and employers. Help for job-seekers is free of charge.

Resources include updated local and regional job leads and access to computers.

Lindsey Crosby with the Charles Jones Foundation says the center is needed more now than ever

"People want jobs, their losing jobs, affects families, it affects the children , it gets to the root of the family," said Crosby. "People are losing their homes. We want to come along side people ... no matter how we can do it ," he added .

The project is paid for by the Charles H. Jones Family Foundation and is located in the Strong Tower Fellowship Church on Vineville Avenue.
