From bikes to dolls, the Macon Police Department was spreading cheer with a Christmas giveaway Monday.

About 500 people lined Central City Park for a chance to pick out a toy of their choice.

Besides the toys, families were fed and children were able to get haircuts.

Santa was on hand to spread the holiday spirit.

Families started lining up at 10 a.m., two hours before the noon event.

The toy giveaway has been going on for a decade.

"I don't believe anybody is going to walk away empty handed. We've never had that happen in the last couple of years since we've been doing this. Everybody leaves away from here with something," said Lt. Ellis Sinclair.
