The Tubman Museum and Wesleyan College are presenting a free public screening of the documentary "The Loving Story" at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the college's Taylor Amphitheater.

The film, being shown as a Black History Month event, details accounts by Richard and Mildred Loving, who were arrested in 1958 for violating Virginia's ban on interracial marriage.

The couple's struggle culminated in a landmark Supreme Court decision, Loving v. Virginia (1967).

The film is a co-production of HBO Documentary films and is distributed by Icarus films.

Following the film, there will be a discussion on integration, race and contemporary relationships. The discussion will be facilitated by Mathew Martin, chair of Wesleyan's humanities department.
