A Southwest High School student was shot and killed Tuesday morning at a Macon housing complex.

According to the Macon-Bibb Sheriff's Office, 16-year-old Antrez Felder was found with one gunshot wound to the head at 4:29 A.M. inside a home on Bobby Jones Lane, near Nesbit Drive.

According to Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones, the victim was only shot once, and investigators are not yet sure whether the shooting was a homicide or a suicide.

However, 13WMAZ's Sheera Poelman spoke to some family members who say they believe the shooting was an accident that happened as Felder pushed the gun under his mattress.

The investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy will be performed Wednesday in Macon.

Anyone with any information on the shooting is urged to call Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
