Two men are in jail after what Milledgeville police are calling a "drug deal gone bad."
When William Robert Lewis made his initial call to police at about 1:33 p.m. Friday, he said Jatarius Burney robbed him of $200 and a gun. Lewis told police Burney came to his home in the 1700 block of Elmwood Road to pick up a cell phone that belonged to a mutual friend.
Lewis provided detectives with information about Burney and they found him and arrested him. When police went back to Lewis's house to ask him additional question, Lewis told police Burney actually robbed him at gunpoint during a marijuana deal taking the drugs and $60.
Detectives searched Lewis's home and found digital scales and a small amount of marijuana. He was charged with possession of marijuana. Burney was charged with armed robbery, according to a Milledgeville police news release.
