Picture this: An 82-year-old former U.S. senator explaining the difference between "naked" and "nekkid."
Alan Simpson, the colorful Republican from Wyoming, shared such wisdom — and more — with The Des Moines Register in an interview that also touched on same-sex marriage, the 2016 presidential race and the Iowa caucuses.
But back to that lesson in language, from the man now best known for being the Republican half of a bipartisan team trying to fix the national debt and reduce the deficit.
"Do you know the difference between naked and nekkid?" Simpson asked Des Moines reporter Jennifer Jacobs. "If you're naked, you don't have any clothes on, but if you're nekkid, you don't have any clothes on but you're up to something."
Since pictures are worth a thousand words, be glad there are no photos of this interview.
