Over a million children a year land in the emergency room suffering a sports related injury.

The new report from Safe Kids Worldwide analyzed injury reports in young athletes, and found a child is brought to the ER every 25 seconds for a sports related ailment.

Concussions accounted for 12 percent of cases, but knee injuries were also common, especially among young girls. Teen girls were eight times more likely to tear their ACL than boys.

It wasn't just older students who got hurt. Nearly half of the injuries occurred in kids ages 12 - 15.
