After a quarterfinal victory over Clinch County on the road over the Thanksgiving break, Hawkinsville is set to go up against Marion County in the semifinals.
Thursday, the guys ran through a light workout, trotting every unit on the field to make sure each player knows their job.
These two met earlier this season and Marion won 14-10.
Defensive Coordinator Will Conner asked his guys to keep number one and number eight contained and to play mistake-free football.
"There's no doubt when you get this deep in the playoffs, physicality is going to win nine times out of ten, and we've just got to set the tone," Conner said. "They are a great team, very physical, and we've got to match that. We've played them earlier in the year, and it was a very physical game, and we just have great respect for them. "
The Red Devils traveled well to Clinch County over the Thanksgiving holiday. We talked with the school Thursday and they said the students will not get out early because Marion is only an hour and a half away from Hawkinsville.
