The Stratford Eages will take their undefeated 2-0 mark on the year and travel to Deerfield-Windsor this Friday night.
They have a soft-spoken yet electrifying senior that can break it open and fly down the field.
His commitment to sports and his focus in the classroom makes Greer Smith our Athlete of the Week.
Senior Greer Smith is a three-sport athlete, but football is his passion.
"Everybody asks me where do I want to go, what do I want to do, but truth be told I don't know yet I may want to go play football at a small school or I might want to go to a Georgia or a Clemson, Smith said with a smile.
Don't let his indecisiveness and his soft spoken nature fool you.
This kid can go wherever he wants.
He sports a 3.97 grade point average, and that's with a schedule that includes plenty of advanced placement classes.
Smith has impressed his coach Rodney Collins
"He can focus on what's going on at the time whether it's academics, football or any sport," Collins said. "He's got a one track mind and he seems to be in the right place."
Maybe nothing exemplifies being in the right place like a sixty yard run he reeled off in Stratford's win against Westwood Academy.
Greer credits his line. His coach credits his senior's determination and has no doubt Smith could find some success playing football at the next level.
"He's just the kind of guy you want on your team because he's so focused and if he's a step slow he'll make up for it with instincts and knowledge," Collins said.
Smith says he would like to either run away with a degree in engineering or possibly business.
