Little League seeks volunteers for regional tournament
Before you know it, August will roll around and it will be time for the Little League Regional tournament.
Now is time to think about volunteering later on this summer.
In order for the girls and boys to play ball they will need concession stand folks, gift store clerks, and a host of other positions.
You will get a chance to see the games and get a free Little League shirt to boot along with a few other goodies.
Assistant Director Matt Weber says they've started recruiting adults a little earlier this year.
"The number that works for us is 150," Weber said. "That gives us a good coverage area, but we will take as many as possible and we will find places for people to work. There is really no limit on parking and grounds keeping, there is no capacity on what we can take. If Warner Robins makes it through and makes it here, probably 200 would be a number that we would need."
If you would like to be a part of this year's Regional Little League action, just head to the complex which is on Snellgrove Drive off of Highway 96, That happens next Tuesday night. That's June 17th.
You will need a government issued picture identification like a driver's license.
They need that to do a background check on each volunteer.
You also don't have to work the entire time, you can choose a certain week day or even a few hours.
And if you can't make it next Tuesday night just swing by the complex at your convenience or give them a call, the number is 478-987-7227.
